RISD Honors Veterans

RISD students paid tribute to veterans in the Annual Veterans Day program on Friday, November 11th. It was a wonderful celebration of patriotic songs, smiling faces, and handshakes of gratitude!

After recognition at the Annual Veterans Day program, all veterans were invited to enjoy a wonderful meal at the Edwards County Senior Activity Center. Lunch was served by RISD STUCO members, and the decorations provided by RISD elementary students were a sweet tribute! The tables were full of veteran families conversing, laughing, and catching up on the happenings in families, the Rocksprings community, and our country.

Thank you to RISD students and teachers for this sweet reminder that we live in the home of the free because of the brave. A special thanks to the 3rd/4th grade team, Holly Grooms and Amy Rexroat, for organizing the event. And, of course, a huge thank you to the veterans and families that came to celebrate and be celebrated!
