2nd Six Weeks

October 18, 2022

Dear Angora Family,

We have already concluded the first six weeks and are in the middle of the second grading period, a five-week grading period ending November 4th. We had a successful start to the year, but there is no time to sit back. Recognizing this, I am asking parents and students to address the following:

  • Start being concerned about grades right now! Waiting until the last week or two of the six-week period is too late. Use the 3rd Period Intervention/Tutorial time wisely. Go to tutorials. Check student portal for missing work and to check your grades. Ask teachers for missing work. Study diligently, and take the time to produce quality work. Parents, please use the parent portal to check on your student(s) grades regularly. If you do not have your login, please call one of the offices.
  • Keep track of your student’s attendance. Each student must maintain 90% attendance to receive credit for each class in all grade levels. All absences, other than medical appointments, count towards the 90% limit. Students with excessive absences will start being assigned Saturday school to reclaim an absence. One day of Saturday school will count for one day of missed school, but the lost instructional time cannot be made up.

Please encourage your students to attend school and work hard in all of their classes.

Thanks,

Kendall Smith, Principal
